i've been driving since college. i haven't taken the public transport in like 6 years so imagine how i felt when last saturday, i sold my precious car. it's no ferrari and i'm no micheal schumaker either but i've spent so much time in my car that it felt like i was letting a loved one go. it wasn't easy... but i didn't realize that the worst was yet to come. it's spelled C-O-M-M-U-T-I-N-G. i honestly dreaded it. the trike ride was really bad. my butt didn't really fit in the trike seat and the ride was really bumpy. a minute in the trike made me nauseous and if my sizzie didn't practice me a week ago i would've been jailed for jailwalking. things have changed since the last time i rode the bus! the pedestrian lane isn't where it used to be... and the bus stop? i lost it too. so i did what every other car owner would have done when challenged with taking the public transport... i took a cab. but even that wasn't such a pleasant experience. manong driver didn't really smell nice and he doesn't know his way around makati. i ended up geting off a block away from my destination and on the other side of Buendia... i still had to walk! it wasn't an easy walk either because i had to find the pedestrian lane again to be able to cross as there were grills everywhere. and so i walked for another 15 minute or so under the heat of the 1:00 pm sun. yep. it was my frist day as a commuter (1st after 6 years or so). and if you need to know how i went home... i called my best friend to pick me up. thanks!
