It was love at first taste for me and the frozen brazo de mercedes that I even dream about it. I got to taste it first 3 years ago and it has been my favorite dessert ever since. I travel from Paranaque to San Lo in Makati just to buy a whole square of it. The one I got to know was called Sweet Surrender (from Sweet Life by Angge) but I just recently found out that they are also selling it in Aggy's in BF Paranaque, a good 10 minute drive from my place. So after waking from a dream of frozen brazo, I drove to BF to taste the one Aggy's offered.
My favorite treat (for those who don't know yet) is not your usual brazo de mercedes (it's not even brazo put in the freezer for 8 hours or something. It's made up of layers of egg whites (or the white part of the original brazo), then the egg yolk custard (tastes a bit like yema) then french vanilla ice cream and finally crushed graham crackers. Some may find it too sweet but for my tastebuds, it's just perfect.. no, it's HEAVENLY.
Now Aggy's frozen brazo is a lot similar to Sweet Surrender only the ice cream comes before the custard part and they use mantecado ice cream instead of french vanilla (now if those two are the same, I really wouldn't know and I'm too lazy to find out). It was also good but I have my biases about Sweet Surrender since that was my first love. I would however go back to Aggy's since it's closer and it did satisfy my frozen brazo craving. And I have to try the other frozen brazos with different ice cream flavors like mocha and mango (Sweet Life by Angge didn't have those.. or maybe I just haven't heard of it).
