On Sunday night, Bessie had a huge fight with her boyfriend and for the record, it was her fault. Boyfriend is from Pampanga and will be going to Manila on Monday for a job interview and they had plans to meet after and go out on a date (or just go back home to Pampanga to spend time together). Boyfriend didn't call or text Bessie the whole day on Monday and Bessie was really worried. She didn't even know if he went to his interview (which was actually located near Bessie's house). She kept texting and calling him but Bessie thought Boyfriend must be really mad to ignore her. She ran some errands that day to keep her mind off Boyfriend. She was supposed to accompany her mom to UST but decided to get off at Lawton instead and take the LRT to Monumento where the bus station to Pampanga is located. She wanted to visit Boyfriend to apologize and make things right.
When she reached Monumento station, she hesitated and was not sure if she's doing the right thing. What if Boyfriend won't talk to her? If Boyfriend weren't home she'd have an awkward moment with his family. Maybe she should wait for Boyfriend to text back or call... She called a friend to help her decide and friend discouraged her from going. Friend said to let it pass first and just go home. She wanted to go home, hesitated and just decided to buy ingredients for chicken curry (Boyfriend's favorite) and go to Pampanga to apologize.
She took her time at the supermarket. If she's not going to Pampanga, she'll cook the curry for her Bessie (me) instead (now I invented this part of the story.. but it could work, right? haha). She went to the bus station, rode the bus but was still hesitant about her decision. She chose her seat and decided to text her mom asking her to just pick her up coz she didn't wanna go through with it anymore.
Here's her text (not verbatim):
Ma, sunduin mo nalang kaya ako. Hindi ako sigurado kung tama tong gagawin ko...
But before she finished her text, she looks up to check if the bus is about to leave and as she does, Boyfriend enters the bus looking for a seat. He doesn't see her yet but he sits at the vacant seat in front of her. She finishes her text...
...pero ok na. Nakita ko sha dito sa bus! :)
Bessie touches Boyfriend's arm, he looks behind surprised and then smiles.. ok na nga lahat.
