Today is 11.11.11 and at 11:11 (am or pm, take your pick)
people will be wishing and crossing their fingers and toes in the hopes that it
will come true.
And like what I said in my FaceBook status, there is really
nothing unusual about this date or time.
We, as human beings are just cognitively prone to giving meaning to a
whole lot of things: the double digit number, the black cat that crossed under
the ladder and the oh-my-gosh-I-think-he-likes-me-coz-he-looked-at-me
perception to name a few, are nothing but events that happen.
People are just like that I guess. They need to find
significance in anything and everything and when they do, this becomes their
worth. And if you really need to find
your meaning, don't look too far. You’ve known this for a very long time but you
sometimes just choose to take it for granted.
God made known your worth when His only Son died on the
cross – for you. That’s how important you are. Our God, in all His majesty and
glory allowed for His only Son to die just so you can live.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23, NLT)
Now if that doesn’t tell you how much you’re worth then
maybe you need to be appraised. Just saying.
